Clear the board. For a marble to be removed, it must be paired with another suitable marble, and it must have at least three contiguous free sides. Neighbors off the board count as free sides.

4 Salt (π) marbles
5 base metals and 1 Gold (β) marble
5 Quicksilver (βΏ) marbles
4 pairs of Vitae (β, Life) and Mors (β, Death)
Reaction rules
Earth (π), Water (π), Air (π), and Fire (π) elements react with marbles of the same type, or with Salt (π)
Salt (π) reacts with the four elements, or with itself
Vitae (β) reacts only with Mors (β)
Base metals react with Quicksilver (βΏ), but they must be removed in the strict sequential order shown below
Gold (β) is removed by itself, but first, all base metals must be removed
